Hanna Göransson - Salty Print
“My goal is to create friction. I want the images to look bright and beautiful enough to draw you in, but strange enough to make you pause and question what you're seeing.”
Hanna Göransson works primarily with photography, shaped by a lifelong instinct to create. In her work, she stages bold collisions between beauty and discomfort.

“Hanna Göransson is awarded for a photographic practice defined by clarity, wit and strong visual conviction. Her work stages unexpected encounters between the polished and the unsettling, turning familiar objects and gestures into compositions that are both playful and arresting. The jury was particularly drawn to her confident aesthetic sensibility and her ability to create images that linger, challenge expectations and feel unmistakably contemporary.”
Hanna says
“Winning, especially for the very first edition of the award, means so much to me. Having my work recognized in such a big way gives me a wave of confidence in the right direction.
She’s very drawn to colorful contrasts. “No matter what I shoot, I want the result to be full of life. I like to create a balance between the polished and the imperfect.”
Hanna is always observing: everyday glimmers, colors on houses, graphic design, friends and family, nature, people on the street. “I’m very aware of my surroundings all the time, it’s like my brain is on a constant treasure hunt for moments to capture, which I love.”
Of her winning piece she says: “The idea was to explore contrast through digital photo, specifically that moment where the polished crashes into the sticky, and unexpected details force you to look closer. I used everyday materials like cigarette packs, fries, noodles, ketchup, fried eggs and soft-serve ice cream. My goal was to create friction.”
