The Home Edit with Joanna Fingal
Joanna Fingal is a Swedish influencer who has established herself as a name to watch in interiors, travel and family life. Joanna invited us into her beautiful home in Örebro, where she selected pieces to elevate her philosophy of home as a place of safety and creativity.

What does home mean to Joanna Fingal?
“Home for me is security, creativity and a little chaos,” says Joanna. She shares her home with her husband, Daniel and their two children, Todd, three and Cleo, five. It’s a place where they can create memories together. “I love natural materials, soft colours and details that stand out. For me, home is a place where the family should feel safe and calm but also inspired.”

An extra meaningful collaboration
The collection Little Artists, Big Dreams, takes centre stage in this Home Edit as it was used to style Todd and Cleo’s rooms. Co-created with children in our Stockholm Atelier in early summer, Little Artists, Big Dreams is especially personal and genuine to Joanna since her eldest daughter, Cleo, was involved in making the collection.
“It was really lovely to see Cleo create with the other children. Children have such a natural and intuitive way of expressing themselves creatively.” How would she describe the day? “Everything was so spontaneous and playful, and that energy is really reflected in the collection.”
Joanna’s number one tip for decorating kids’ spaces
The approach Joanna takes for her children’s rooms is to make them cheerful yet retain some balance. “Pick some colours that you want to be prominent, and then select the art based on that palette.” She likes to include her children in the process, by listening to their opinions and ideas. “And don’t have too many rules, as it should always be fun to step into a child’s room!” Another suggestion Joanna makes is to place the art at the child’s height. “It makes the room feel more alive and personal.”

“For children, art becomes a way to dream, explore and express emotions. I think that colours, shapes and illustrations can awaken their imaginations and create an environment where they feel free and creative.” With that in mind, Joanna believes that there should still be balance, even in children’s rooms. “Even if a child’s room is playful, it is still important to have balance. Create harmony so that the room feels integrated with the rest of the home.”
